The Convenience Store by the Sea • First Time Read • 2020 • Sonoko Machida • I didn't know what to think of this book initially. It felt slightly stilted, whether due to translation or not, I'm not sure. But I kept reading. And it started drawing me in by brilliantly building intertwined moments of social interactions and vignettes of character development. • Loved It!

To Live and Die in L.A. 1985 • William Friedkin • Not as good as I remembered. Everyone in this is evil, or an idiot. I didn't buy the transformation of John Vukovich. He didn't earn it. Dafoe is stellar, of course. • Decent

Ted Lasso • 2020 • Apple's most famous show? Maybe. All I know it was exactly what we needed during the pandemic, and it holds up now. It's just fun. • Loved It!

Flashback • 2000 • Electric Light Orchestra • Let's face it, not everything ELO did is magic (strange or otherwise). But their highs are so high. A great look back. • Liked It
